Musical Mamma Mia will have its official run in Manila, Philippines in 2012.
Mamma Mia! is a stage musical written by British playwright Catherine Johnson, based on the songs of ABBA, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, former members of the band.
The Philippine production of ‘Mamma Mia!’ at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has been announced and it slated in January and February of 2012. The official run of ‘Mamma Mia!’ which starts on January 24, 2012 at the CCP Main Theater.
Two of the lead stars in ‘Mamma Mia!’ were in Manila to bring the good news. Sara Poyzer and Charlotte Wakefield, who portray the mother and daughter characters Donna and Sophie, respectively, revealed their excitement about their upcoming Philippine production.
